PRESERVING & PROMOTING EXCELLENCE IN THE UNIVERSITY COMMUNITY
The Star & Crescent Foundation, a non-profit corporation, aims to provide a higher quality of life for students at the University of Minnesota by promoting academic excellence while encouraging students to be involved in the many charitable and philanthropic organization in the Twin Cities community. The foundation also strives to promote civic engagement. Through various scholarships sponsored by our generous donors, we are able to make college more affordable and meaningful.
As part of our mission, the Star & Crescent Foundation also support historic preservation projects as part of the Greek Letter Historic District. The District, created in 2003 by the Minneapolis Historic Preservation Commission, protects and preserves the many Greek houses on the University of Minnesota campus. The foundation helps finance restoration and repair projects but approving grants for historic repairs in accordance with the MHPC guidelines.
