OUR MISSION
To actively foster, encourage and promote educational, civic, social, historic and charitable purposes by obtaining, managing and utilizing donated funds and resources for the advancement of educational, civic, socil and charitable purposes.
OUR PURPOSE
The Star & Crescent Foundation is a nonprofit corporation organized exclusively for educational, civic, social, historic and charitable purposes and is not organized for the private gain of any person or persons. It is organized under the Minnesota Nonprofit Corporations Act for public and charitable purposes to do the following:
TO PROMOTE, FOSTER AND ENCOURAGE:

Activities that benefit the University of Minnesota, its student body, staff and surrounding community; the past, present and future students and fraternity members of the Minnesota Society of Alpha Delta Phi including educational, civic, social, historic and charitable events.

Preservation of historic buildings and fixtures located in the the Greek Letter Historic District through the publication and dissemination of historical information, knowledge and education regarding the properties located in the Historic District.
TO PROVIDE:

Direct funding of financial aid and economic support necessary for the rehabilitation, maintenance and upkeep of historical buildings and fixtures located in the Greek Letter Historic District.

Guidance and counsel to the Board of Directors of the Minnesota Society of Alpha Delta Phi regarding the advancement of its mission and any matters affecting its educational, civic, social, historic and charitable purposes, activities and endeavors.
BOARD OF DIRECTORS
The Star & Crescent Foundation is charged with supporting the educational and leadership development goals of the General Fraternity. Led by a 5-person Board of Directors, it is the Foundation’s responsibility to secure and manage the financial resources that provide for the historic preservation of properties in the Greek Letter Historic District, promote academic excellence and civic engagement through scholarships. Board members assist with a wide range of responsibilities such as: fundraising, donor cultivation and prospecting, planning investment and spending strategies, and reviewing grants for historic preservation projects.
